A delegation of political leaders in Kogi State led by the State Commissioner for Works, Barrister Abdulsalami Ozigi Deedat, on Tuesday paid a working visit to the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), to address critical issues affecting federal roads across the state.
The delegation who met with the Managing Director of FERMA, Dr. Chukwuemeka Abasi, included Hon. Abdulraheem Sani Egidi, Hon. Danladi Aguye, and Hon. Salman Idris being House of Representatives members representing Ajaokuta, Lokoja/Kogi, and Ijumu/Kabba-Bunu respectively.
Discussions at the high-level engagement focused on the current condition of federal roads within Kogi State, identifying priority areas requiring urgent intervention, and exploring collaborative measures to fast-track maintenance and rehabilitation efforts.
Speaking after the meeting, the Commissioner emphasized the commitment of the Kogi State Government to working closely with federal authorities and lawmakers to ensure that road infrastructure across the state meets acceptable standards.
The stakeholders collectively reaffirmed their resolve to deliver safe and motorable roads that will enhance economic activities, improve connectivity, and ease movement for residents and commuters.
The Managing Director of FERMA assured that necessary steps would be taken to facilitate prompt action on identified areas, noting that the agency remains committed to supporting infrastructural development across the country.
