Natasha to Kogi Central Voters:  Judge Us by Performance, Integrity

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

The lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has urged constituents to evaluate political candidates based on performance, integrity, and verifiable track records ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Akpoti-Uduaghan made the call while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Sunday, stressing that public service evaluation must prioritize tangible achievements over party rhetoric.

“Most of those contesting have held elective positions before. So, electorates will have to judge us based on what we have been able to achieve when we had the opportunity to serve,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said.

The senator’s comments coincided with public statements made by former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who expressed confidence in defeating her for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in 2027 under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on TVC’s Politics Sunday, Bello declared that the outcome of the election scheduled for January 16, 2027, would demonstrate his political standing.

“16th of January, 2027 is around the corner. The result will speak for itself… Massive vote. Decisive victory for Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi state and for the APC,” Bello stated.

In response to emerging political rivalries, Akpoti-Uduaghan maintained that voters must look past campaign promises and scrutinize constituency interventions.

Highlighting her stewardship in Kogi Central, the lawmaker cited interventions in road construction, pipe-borne water projects, healthcare facilities, classroom blocks, scholarships, solar streetlights, digital learning tools, and empowerment initiatives for market women.

“My stewardship has been framed by a focus on addressing the critical needs of my people,” she noted, adding that her vision for the 2027–2031 legislative term is to consolidate development and advance socio-economic stability across the senatorial district.
