Reacting to this feat, Comrade Samuel Elere, the National President of Mopa Welfare Society said, “for us at the Mopa Welfare Society, we congratulate Victor, Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole for this great feat. Even though this kind of feat is not strange to us, we are grateful to almighty God for His grace on our children.

“It will be recalled that recently, Master Seun Arotiba from Mopa at 16 years became the best candidate in West African Examination Council (WAEC) and Miss Deborah Motilewa became the youngest Nigerian to bag a PhD.

“All these young people are following in the footsteps of our forebears and pathfinders. People like Dr. Layo Phillips the first Woman Veterinary Doctor in West Africa, Prof. Seth Ajayi, the first Professor of wildlife and Fishery in Africa. Dr. Eyitayo Adetoro who was the first Okun man to be Commissioner in the Military regime of Gen. Gowon. R.T Alege the first Okun man to be elected into the House of Representatives. Chief Ade John, the first Okun man to be Permanent Secretary and First African Chairman of Leventis. Chief Sunday Awoniyi, the first Okun man to be honoured with the Commander of the Order of Niger CON. Chief S.B. Daniyan the first MD of Nigeria Industrial Development Bank and the first man from this clime to be President of Nigerian Stock Exchange, among several others.

“This is one of the reasons we are appealing to the Executive Governor of Kogi State to consider Mopa as host of the University to be cited in Okun land. Mopa people has been worthy servants of the State, the North and Nigeria as a whole. Above all we have the land, the takeoff infrastructure and we are right in the middle of Okun land with Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu on one side and Yagba West and Yagba East on the other.”
