A lady identified as Joan Ozavize Salihu from Kogi state has cried out after she was allegedly beaten up by her brother identified as Adams Salihu, for no just cause.
According to her, Adams who has their mother’s backing had been assaulting her since she was a child to the extent that she was once admitted into a hospital.
She noted that she had warned him at the time that she would report him if he repeated the assault.
The recent incident, according to her, happened on Tuesday, June 6, which marks a week after her grandfather, whom she claimed loved her, died.
She further revealed that her mother and brother labeled her a bastard and with the aid of Adams’ friend, beat her up with a plank and stone.
She emphasized as she cried for help, that she had never gotten the support of neither her mother nor Adams on anything, including her education. Also, Joan stated that she was not allowed to have friends and her mother claimed not to be hers.
However, she added that since her family did not want her around them, she had to vacate their house.
“I recently had ovarian cyst and treated it. My brother beat me and kicked me in my belly. He went as far as tearing my cloth. I left the house and got over-the-counter pills for the pains; but I am still in pains,” she said.
