No Anointed Aspirant In Kogi, Says NNPP Chair

The Kogi State chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Prince Suleiman Abubakar, has said the party leadership does not have not have a preferred aspirant ahead of the governorship primaries in Kogi State, adding that the party will ensure a level playing field for all aspirants.

Abubakar who stated this in a press statement made available to journalists yesterday noted that NNPP will be the pride of all Kogites. He said the party is based on ideology and for the ordinary people, stressing that the party will organise a free and fair primary for all the contenders.

He also added that the party will emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state.

He said “As the chairman, I need to be neutral and see all the candidates as one. I have interacted with all of them individually and assured them of a level playing ground.

“I emphatically told them that I will be neutral and only support whoever emerged from the primary election.

“NNPP will form the next government in Kogi State, APC will not win because there is nothing to show the people of the state that APC has done in the last eight years in power,” he said.

The chairman accused the APC government of creating division among the various ethnic groups instead of uniting the people, adding that both the APC and the PDP have failed Kogi state and should be roundly rejected.

He said NNPP as a party has come to stay in the country and Kogi State included.

He promised the people of Kogi state that the party will not let down the people if voted into power in the November governorship election.
