The Kogi State Police Command on Monday commenced a statewide enforcement exercise targeting vehicles with covered, obscured, unauthorised, defaced, or no registration number plates.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi in a press statement through the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat disclosed the exercise commenced today, Monday, 15th June 2026, and aimed at strengthening public safety by denying criminal elements the use of unidentifiable vehicles for criminal activities.

“The exercise is a proactive security measure designed to enhance crime prevention, improve vehicle identification, and strengthen overall security operations across the State.

“The Kogi State Police Command remains committed to the protection of lives and property and urges members of the public to cooperate fully for the success of this initiative.

“Members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities to the nearest Police Station or through emergency channels,” the statement said.
