The Federal Government has announced the reimbursement of the sum of N135,479,884,67,02 to states and FCT under the Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme.
The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu made the announcement, presenting the ranked earned reimbursements by the states and FCT after the second independent verification exercise.
Kogi state ranked 33rd position, with N698,394,994.38 to be paid to the state government.
The top receiving benefiting states include Nasarawa, Cross River, Zamfara and Borno states.
The Minister noted that “the implementation of the NG-CARES Programme remains one of the cornerstones for the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.”
He commended the World Bank for its support and also called on State Governments, Donor Partners and Civil Society Organizations to support the Federal Government in addressing multi-dimensional poverty among poor and vulnerable Nigerians.
