Sallah: Ram Theft Rises in Kogi

Ahead of the Eid-El-Kabir celebration, people residents of Kogi State have commenced wake keep for their rams to prevent thieves from carting them away.

Residents of Lokoja, Kogi State, who have purchased their rams are now living in fear over rising theft in the metropolis.

A resident of one of the 200-unit estates, Hajia Suleiman Inuwa, said she woke up to a surprise as the ram she bought for N70,000 could not be found.

Another resident, Mallam Tanke Idachaba, told one of our correspondents that he found his ram, which cost him N120,000, had been stolen when he woke up for 5am prayer.

An average ram is presently sold for between N50,000 and N60,000, with the price reaching N200,000 to N250,000 in the city capital as of press time.
