In a recent post on his official Twitter page, the Kogi governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye has likened himself to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Melaye reminded the people of Kogi that the capacity of Zelensky was doubted when he declared to lead Ukraine, because he was a comedian.
In the same manner, the governorship candidate said many people would joke about his ambition, noting that like Zelensky who withstood the aggression from Russia, he also possess what it takes to succeed as a Governor.
He shared: “When President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared to run for the office of the president of Ukraine, some doubted his capacity, many did not anticipate he would withstand whatever aggression that would come from Russia. Perhaps for the fact that he was a comedian.
“Today, President Zelenskyy has proven to the world that, to be firm, fierce, and lead is not determined by what you do but to prove your capabilities.
“So many people would joke and laugh at the fact that Senator Dino Melaye wants to be governor. Well, Senator Dino Melaye has whatever it would take to succeed as a governor. He is not a novice in the affairs of government and would definitely make a good Governor.”
