‘Security Threats’: Council Chairman Gives PDP 1 Week to Vacate Proposed Secretariat in Okene

The Chairman of Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has given the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) one week notice to vacate its proposed secretariat in Okene.

Muhammad in a letter of notice addressed to the PDP Chairman in Okene, said the notice was part of the resolutions of a Peace and Security Committee to rejig the security architecture of the local government.

According to Muhammad, the committee considered the proximity of the PDP party secretariat a threat to critical infrastructures in Okene.

The infrastructures he highlighted, include the Ebira Central Mosque, and the Council Secretariat “which when the political activities heat up, it will distort the peaceful activities in the vicinity.”

However, the Council Chairman said the decision should not be misconstrued as a ploy to dabble into the affairs of the opposition party.
