NDLEA Decorates Kogi Gov as Ambassador of War Against Drug Abuse

Kogi State command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has decorated the state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as an ambassador of the war against drug abuse (WADA) in recognition of his efforts in fighting the menace.

The governor was decorated when the NDLEA commander in the state, Umar Mustapha Yahuza led his team on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Lokoja.

The State Commander said the purpose of the visit was to intimate the governor on the activities of the agency as well as to seek support of the State Government in order to achieve lasting peace in the state.

According to the Commander, drug abuse is the catalyst to all crimes such as banditry, kidnappings, rape among others.

Responding, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo pledged the present administration’s readiness to support the agency in the fight against drug abuse.

Governor Ododo thanked the NDLEA commander and his team for their commitment to a drug-free society.

He assured them that no effort would be spared in ridding the state of drug abuse.
