Kogi: Musa Mubarak Musa Emerges NNPP Guber Candidate

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has successfully conducted primary election for the November 11th governorship election in Kogi State.

Musa Mubarak has emerged winner of the party’s ticket, having polled the highest votes.

According to the Returning Officer, Henry Francis Folaranmi, the candidate polled 607 votes to emerge defeating Sunday Oni who polled 44 votes, and a former House of Representatives member, Hassan Baiwa Abdullahi with 3 votes.

 

“Following the constitution of our party, the NNPP, and by the power bestowed on me as the Returning Officer of this primary election, I, Henry Francis Folaranmi declare Alhaji Dr Musa Mubarak as the winner of 2023 Kogi State Gubernatorial primary, with the highest votes cast, and hereby returned elected.”

On his part, Musa Mubarak expressed delight in the victory, describing the process as credible.

“I  feel happy and fulfilled, and I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone who made this possible today, and I will not let them down,” he said.

He further assured that he will emerge as a popular candidate across political parties in the state.

However, when asked about his plans, he said he will unveil his agenda in no distant time.
