Few days to the inauguration of the President-elect, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has resigned his membership of the party.
Ajaka resigned his membership of the party in writing to the ward party Chairman in Ajaka, Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
He has further tendered his resignation from the National Working Committee of the party.
In the letter addressed to the National Chairman, Ajaka thanked his former colleagues, with hope that they meet again.
“Kindly permit me to extol the exemplary brinkmanship, astuteness, sagacity and political dexterity with which Your Excellency, being supported by the current National Working Committee have successfully bonded the hitherto fragile fabrics of the Partys firmly enough to record the most eminent victories in the last general elections.
“Having proudly won the presidential election therefore, I have the utmost faith that the Party, under your able charge will help the incoming administration to upgrade the standard of governance for the greater good of Nigerians.
“I also, by this medium wish to thank my fellow NWC members for their extra-ordinary camaraderie while we worked together. It is my hope that we are parting says on the basis of principle, only to meet again, in due course,” he said.
ebirareporters.com reports that the resignation was as a result of his inability to upturn the outcome of the governorship primary election in Kogi, which he contested.
Grapevines said he has been muscling the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to conduct another primary election to allow him get the party’s ticket.
