Kogi PDP Chairman Hails Supreme Court Judgment

The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammed Gambo, has described the Supreme Court judgment upholding the Court of Appeal’s decision to nullify the PDP Ibadan convention as proof that the party remains the darling of Nigerians.

The Supreme Court on Thursday affirmed the Court of Appeal ruling that invalidated the Ibadan convention.

Three out of the five-member panel delivered the judgment nullifying the convention, while two justices held that the appeal had merit.

Speaking shortly after the verdict, Gambo urged aggrieved members to support the new leadership in building a stronger and more united PDP.

“As we speak, our party remains the one to beat. Nigerians are yearning for the PDP. We showed what our party is made of when we were in power. Nigerians lived in prosperity then. The level of poverty Nigerians are experiencing today was unimaginable during the PDP era,” he said.

He added that the PDP administration brought insecurity to its lowest level and gave citizens hope for a better future before the party was “stylishly rigged out.”

According to him, Nigerians now see the difference and are calling for the PDP’s return.

Gambo expressed confidence that the Kogi State chapter of the PDP is well positioned for greater achievements and urged Kogites to unite to unseat the APC from Lugard House in 2027.

“Without mincing words, we all can see what our Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, is doing. See how our House of Representatives member is making us proud. The time for Kogites to take their destiny into their hands with the PDP is now,” he said.

The Kogi PDP chairman also congratulated the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for his determination in protecting the party from being hijacked.

He also commended the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led National Executive, saying they have what it takes to reposition the party for victory in the 2027 general election.

He lauded the courage displayed by the judiciary in the swift and fearless judgment, noting that it has again proven to be the last hope of the common man.

Gambo called on residents to register in the ongoing e-registration exercise of the party and reaffirmed his commitment to providing purposeful and result-driven leadership in Kogi State.
