Kogi Commences Revalidation, Recertification of CofO, Other Land Titles

Kogi State Government has set up a committee for the revalidation and recertification of Certificates of Occupancy (CofO) and other land titles.

Secretary of the committee, Mary Ann Otaru disclosed this in a statement in Lokoja.

Otaru said the revalidation and recertification exercise started on 26th June, 2023 and will end on 9th September, 2023.

She called on all owners of houses and plots of land in the state currently holding Rights to come out to validate their documents.

“Those who are yet to pay their ground rent should also hasten to pay as the Committee is ready to make things easy for them.

“The Committee assures genuine plot owners that on payment of the prescribed fees, they will receive the new validated Digital Certificate of Occupancy that will give absolute legitimacy to their properties,” Otaru said on behalf of the committee.

According to her, those who fail to meet up within the prescribed period risk revocation of their titles.
