Kogi Central Senate: Can Yahaya Bello Defeat Natasha Akpoti in Final Battle?

Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello on Monday declared his interest to contest the next Senatorial election in the central senatorial district, a position currently being occupied by his long time political rival, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The former Governor, ebirareporters.com confirmed was officially presented as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Ahmed Tijani Mohamed Anaje by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

In the meeting, the Governor declared the political contingents to the palace and their supporters under the APC, have vowed to reward their principal, Bello, with the senatorial assignment for his service to the state.

Bello, officially accepted the nomination, and declared his interest to run for the Senate position, being a decision policital pundits predict will make him the sole candidate of the APC in the district.

Recall that Akpoti had earlier in December, hinted on the possibility of her facing Bello in the next race.

In a podcast interview with Seun Okinbaloye, the Senator expressed confidence in her supporters to defeat Bello.

“I am his nightmare. He was a sitting governor. He wielded all the powers at his disposal against me, and yet I defeated him. As a matter of fact, I won all the five local governments. I just refused to challenge the results of Okene local government which was heavily rigged.

I don’t like to be boastful, but I say, I have my people at heart and the people do have me at heart.
