The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Kogi State, Wemi Jones has reportedly disclosed to his supporters that he is the next Secretary to the State Government under the administration of the Governor-Elect, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
ebirareporters.com gathered that that the Commissioner noted he has won the assurances of Governor Yahaya Bello because of his role in the establishment of Kogi State University Kabba.
At a meeting he held with his supporters from Kabba-Bunu, Mr. Jones assured them he is the next SSG, sources privy of the meeting disclosed.
However, a concerned group from Kogi West senatorial district has advised the incoming governor not to appoint somebody that is not capable of managing the position.
According to Comrade Joseph Taiwo, the spokesperson of Kogi West Concern Group for Better Government, Mr. Wemi Jones does not have the capability and capacity to manage the office.
In a statement issued he said the commissioner is using the establishment of the State University in Kabba as his sole achievement forgetting that Governor Bello made the promise during the ainauguration of his second tenure that he will established the University in Kogi West.
Taiwo appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello and the incoming governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, to appoint somebody that is intelligent and focused who is also accepted by the people of his constituency.
