Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged the citizens of Kogi State to take advantage of the ongoing e-registration of members into the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that the APC has benefited the state more than other political parties.
Governor Ododo stated this at a critical stakeholders’ meeting of the APC to draw support for the registration exercise.
To the Governor, every citizen of the state ought be in the party, owing to the strides of the APC led government in the state.
“The efforts of Mr. President on Ajaokuta Steel Company, and the many projects he is executing in Kogi State, as well as the resources he has made available to us to achieve our modest strides, are enough for every Kogite to register in our dear party, the All Progressives Congress,” he said.
He called for the full support of all stakeholders of the party across boards toward building a platform that will continue to win elections and deliver on promises to the people.
“It is a known fact that no group has ever drawn strength from disunity. No people can ever prosper in disunity. As hard as unity seems, it has no alternative when progress is needed. Unity is not a weakness. Unity is power. Unity is progress. APC in Ajiolo is APC in Ihima. APC in Ejiba is APC in Kotonkarfe. We are blessed with a party that is a platform for all to support good governance. No single person owns our party. It is owned by all Nigerians who believe in the greatness of our nation.
“Let us be honest with ourselves. Let us be fair. Let us be grateful. My people, disunity has deprived us of taking full advantage of our natural and human resources. Those who steal our resources strive to keep us divided, to their advantage and to our own disadvantage. We can’t afford to continue in disunity. Let us come together on the platform of APC to propel our state into greatness. Division weakens us. Unity lifts us.”
Governor Ododo stated that APC has made its members proud in Kogi through services to the people.
“I am aware that students who enjoy our bursary are not rushing into our party by accident. They know that APC is the friend of Nigerian students and youths. NELFUND from Tinubu. Bursary from Ododo. It is an APC thing.
“et me use this opportunity to remind us all that elections have not started yet. What has started is a programme to fortify our already strong platform to ensure victory for Mr. President and all the candidates of our party in 2027. Let all of us drop personal interests and focus on the task of populating our party first. APC is already big, but we want it to be bigger. And I want to say this emphatically: If you are not actively participating in mobilising for this registration, then you are not a loyal party member,” he noted.
He urged members to work together, and give back to the party if they hoped to stand on the platform someday.
