Residents of Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State have been thrown into a frenzy after some heavily armed robbers attacked the Ankpa branch of two banks, First Bank Nigeria and Zenith in the state, killing scores with many injured.
Sources reported that the gunmen in their numbers, arrived in several cars and motorbikes and operated without resistance.
“After robbing banks for about an hour, they drove violently but steadily out of Ankpa with unending gunshots.
“They left through Okpo road, but no one knows their destination as the shots were too heavy.
“Most Ankpa residents are still hiding as they do not know if the attack has ended,” netizens confirmed.
This attack is coming barely eight months after two banks were robbed in Yagba West Local Government Area of the state.
Ebira Reporters gathered that last time a bank robbery of similar magnitude happened in Ankpa, was in 2012.
“The issue of insecurity is alarming, that we feel no force can stop it,May Allah come to our Rescue. Ameen!” Facebook User, Adaji Sani Saidah said.
