Gov. Bello Signs Advertisement Bill, Three Others to Law 

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has on Tuesday signed four bills into Law.

The Governor appended his signatures on the bills presented to him at the State Executive Hall in Lokoja the state capital, by the leadership of the House of Assembly.

The bills are:

1. A law to provide for the establishment of Kogi State Sanitation and Waste Management Board Law 2022.

2. A law to provide for the movement of Agricultural produce within Kogi state and other matters connected therewith Law 2022.

3. A law to provide for the repel and re-enactment of Hotel and Tourism Board Edict of 1995, establishing the Kogi state Hotel and Tourism Board and other matters connected

4. A law to provide for regulation of outdoor structure for the display of signage and advertisement law 2022.

Recall that the Assembly last Thursday passed the signage and advertisement bill, and ebirareporters.com reported some of the stipulations of the law which include payment of N10 million by Presidential candidates to get permits for outdoor advertising.

By the new law all governorship candidates are to pay N5 million, Senatorial candidates N2 million, and House of Representatives N1 million.

According to the lawmakers, the law would regulate outdoor display of signage and advertisement in the state.

The law also aims at curbing the indiscriminate pasting of posters on side walks, walls, bridges and public buildings in the state.
