Abductors of Kogi Ceramic Workers Demand N40m Ransom

 

The gunmen who kidnapped workers of West African Ceramics Company in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State, have communicated the families of their victims, demanding N40 million ransom.

A family source who disclosed this to journalists on Friday, said they have been communicating with the kidnappers since Thursday, even as they threatened to kill them if their demands were not met.

“They called us with one number, threatening to kill my brother if we fail to bring N5Million by latest today Friday. Where will me and my family get such amount of money?” the source stated.

Ebira Reporters earlier reported that the workers were kidnapped on Wednesday at the Emiworo axis of Ajaokuta while loading stones to be transported to their company.

Reacting to the kidnap, the Public Relations Officer of the company, Hassan Illugbami Igo in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday assured that security agencies have been mobilized to track down the criminals and rescue the victims.
