Abducted Kogi Pharmacist, Azeco Regains Freedom after One Month

Having spent about one month in the den of his abductors, the Managing Director of Azeco Pharmacy in Okene, Pharmacist Abdulazeez Obajimoh on Saturday regained freedom.

Ebira Reporters recalls that Obajimoh was abducted by unknown gunmen in Iruvucheba community, Okene local government area of Kogi state, earlier in July.

Prior to his release, the abductors had rejected the N10 million ransom offer from his family, insisting on N30 million to secure his freedom.

A source added that the abductors rejected the offer made by the family, insisting on N30m ransom. They reportedly turned down N10m offer, calling it “chicken change”.

While declining comment on whether ransom was paid to secure his release, the Kogi State Chairman of Pharmaceuticals Society of Nigeria (PSN), Dr Lawal Mohammed confirmed the release.
