Judges of Kogi State High Court will on Monday, 2nd August 2021 begin their annual vacation.
A statement issued on Thursday by Abubakar Suleiman Ibrahim Esq., Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice, Lokoja, said the vacation is pursuant to Order 9, Rule (4)(2) of the High Court (Civil Procedure Rules), 2006, under the hand of the Hon. Acting Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Richard Oloruju Olorunfemi.
The statement said “This declaration entails that apart from the Vacation Judge appointed by the Hon. Acting Chief Judge, all other Judges of the High Court of Justice of the State would proceed on the annual one month vacation on Monday, 2nd August 2021. It will last up to Sunday, 12th September 2021 while normal court sittings resume fully on Monday, 13th September 2021”.
Meanwhile, the Acting Chief Judge of Kogi State has approved the appointment of Justice Salisu Umar of the High Court of Justice as the Vacation Judge.
According to the statement, He will attend to urgent Criminal Matters and Civil Motions emanating from across the State while sitting at the High Court Headquarters in Lokoja.
“Such Matters or Motions must not only be urgent but will, by law, be entertained by leave of the Court made under application by both parties” the statement added.
