The management of Kogi State University has given graduants an ultimatum of September 2021 to pay and collect their original digital certificates from the institution.
This announcement was signed by the Registrar of the institution, Dr Nuhu Ahmed and further contained in a circulated memo from the office of the Acting Bursar, Mrs Aminat Anuhi, disclosing the new rates for digital certificates.
According to the statement by the management, only graduants from year 2012 to 2018 are affected, and are to use the paystack gateway provided on the website of the school.
“Candidates are to strictly adhere to this notice to avoid the accompanying penalty of non-issuance of such certificates thereafter,” the management warned.
This development came barely few weeks after a sister institution, University of Calabar issued three months ultimatum to over 42,000 alumni of the institution who were yet to collect their certificates.
The Registrar of UNICAL, Gabriel Egbe disclosed that some of the certificates date back to the 1980s.
“It has been discovered that there are over 42,000 unclaimed certificates of the University of Calabar in faculties and institutes. Some of these certificates date back to the 1980s.”
He threatened that those who do not collect their certificates after the ultimatum will have their names published, and surcharged.
