The President of Khalif Cares Foundation, Distinguished Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene has congratulated Christian faithfuls on the completion of lent season and Easter celebration.
The philanthropist in a felicitation message issued to newsmen on Saturday, stated that the significance of the season is a renewal of hope and perseverance amidst trials and tribulations.
He said Nigerians must pick up the important message and remain united across religions, ethnicity and political dispositions.
He said: “The Easter season is a time of sober reflection, yearning for peace of mind and intercession for redemption. For me, the most important message is peace and perseverance. Christ went through suffering and still did not bulge about his stand on peace. He prayed for his enemies, sued for peace and triumphed.
“As Nigerians, we are faced with myriads of problems affecting our standard of living, and it is a critical moment where our unity in diversity is threatened. However, we must be tolerable, remain united in solidarity to triumph, and our oneness should not be traded for anything.
“Coincidentally, the Muslims are also earnestly praying in Ramadan. So, I pray that God in His infinite mercies, attend to our prayers, lift our burdens and give us a good end.”
