Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Monday berated the work carried out on the ongoing renovation project at the Specialist Hospital Lokoja, stating that the work done was not up to his standard.
Governor Bello embarked on an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the state capital, and was particularly displeased by what he called “rub and shine” executed by the contractor.
The Governor in a video gaining traction on Facebook, was seen scolding the Chinese contractor, the State Commissioners for Works, that of Health, and the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital.
“The work done is zero. Honourable Commissioner of Works, Health, CMD, you guys I’m not pleased with what I have seen here as far as the renovation is concerned. This has shown that you have no capacity. This is not GYB standard. I am a man of quality, and everything I do as far as Kogi State is concerned in terms of projects depicts quality and standard, world standard.
“I can’t imagine this is where I’m spending money. This job is supposed to have been delivered before now, in the first instance, you have delayed. You have breached that particular part of the contract, not to talk of the admin block. I don’t have to go and inspect the admin block,” he said.
The Governor gave the contractor up till December 2021 to remedy the situation.
