The Kogi State Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris has told his supporters he will not yield to the calls on him to represent Kogi West Senatorial District at the red chamber.
Idris in a public statement detailing his position on the calls made on him, stated that his involvement in the presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello has hindered him.
The Commissioner, however, declared his support for “a Yagba person to assume the upper legislative seat.”
“Going forward, despite my inability to contest as an aborigine of Yagba land, let me state it clearly, that I am in full support of a Yagba person to assume the upper legislative seat in the next coming general election.”
While appreciating the people for considering him to aspire, he pledged to sustain the confidence reposed in him.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State security adviser, Comdr Jerry Omodara ( Retd) has joined the race to contest for the Kabba Bunu/ Ijumu federal constituency.
Omodara regarded as an asset to the state who performed wonderfully as state security adviser said if elected , he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in reducing poverty and providing employment opportunities for members of his constituency.
The state adviser who said he consulted widely before throwing in the hat said if elected, his representation at the national assembly will be people- focused and geared towards promoting all components that make up his constituency.
