State Workers in Kogi Receive Full March Salary, as Local Govt Workers, Teachers Wait for February’s 

The Kogi State Government has paid full salary for the month of March to the state workers, as Primary School teachers and workers under the local government are still awaiting that of February after they got 17%.for January. 

The orgsnized Labour confirmed the development, applauding the government for paying full salaries to the state workers for the month of March. 

In a statement jointly signed by the State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Comrade Matthew Ranti Ojo and his Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC counterpart, Comrade Onuh Edoka, the leadership of the organized labour also appealed to the government look into the plight of the local government workers and improve their salaries. 

“Workers and pensioners on the payroll of the state government have been paid their March salaries hundred percent and we are happy for that.

“Civil servants at that level are now well motivated to deliver on their mandates in their various offices,” the statement said.

Recall that in a recent interview on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily, Governor Yahaya Bello was asked whether all workers in Kogi are captured in the implementation of N30,000 minimum wage, and he said he was paying based on the available resources.

“What we do is to make do with the available resources at any given time. Yes, everybody is receiving the minimum wage but based on the available resources,” he said.
