Our attention has been drawn to the purported social media suspension of distinguished Senator Isah Echocho by certain individuals seeking to distort facts, mislead party faithful, and create unnecessary political tension.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to clearly state the following:
Distinguished Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) did not lose his polling unit in 2019. He won overwhelmingly and equally delivered substantial support for the administration of former Governor Yahaya Bello. Likewise, during the 2023 gubernatorial election, Senator Echocho demonstrated unalloyed commitment to the party, delivering sizeable votes from his polling unit and across several polling units in Kogi East despite prevailing challenges and intense political pressure.
Senator Echocho’s empowerment programmes have consistently been centred on members and structures of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His recent mega empowerment, which saw the distribution of vehicles to Local Government Party Chairmen, tricycles to party stakeholders, support packages to youth leaders, women groups, and party mobilizers, was fundamentally designed to strengthen party structures, reward loyalty, and deepen grassroots participation within the APC family.
Beyond politics, Senator Echocho’s developmental footprint across Kogi East remains visible and undeniable. His interventions include the construction and renovation of schools, establishment of Primary Healthcare Centres, establishment and development of cottage industries, installation of solar-powered streetlights, and support for community-based security structures. These were not undertaken in isolation but executed in consultation with key stakeholders and in line with the aspirations and developmental priorities of the people.
It is therefore astonishing that a personality whose contributions to party growth, grassroots mobilization, electoral victories, and community development are well documented would become the target of a poorly conceived social media trial orchestrated by individuals whose motives are clearly questionable.
We strongly advise the general public, party members, and supporters to disregard this purported and misplaced social media suspension, as it lacks credibility, proper procedural foundation, and moral justification.
Political intimidation, propaganda, and media theatrics cannot erase years of sacrifice, loyalty, service, and visible contributions to the growth of the party and the development of Kogi East.
Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) remains committed to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress, the advancement of democratic values, and the continuous welfare and empowerment of the people.
No amount of political blackmail can diminish his proven performance, tested loyalty, and enduring grassroots acceptance to deliver Mr. President in forthcoming election.
