Gov. Bello Swears in Three New Commissioners

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has on Friday inaugurated three new Commissioners in the state.

The Commissioners are Dr. Zakari Usman, Health; Engr Muhammed Abdulmutalib, Rural and Energy Development; and Mr. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Commissioner for Information and Communication.

The inauguration which followed the clearance of the Commissioners by the State House of Assembly, held during the State Executive Meeting.

Recall that while Usman and Abdulmutalib were cleared by the lawmakers last week, Fanwo was deferred, rescreened and cleared on Wednesday.

The governor after oaths taking by the commissioners charged the newly inaugurated members of the council to work assiduously in making sure they give good account of themselves in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The governor counseled the commissioners to acquit themselves with his administration’s blueprint and the New Direction governance policy which placed unity at the top of its agenda.

Bello admonished the newly inaugurated commissioners to carry their people along, give back to their constituencies when opportunities allowed, and work harmoniously with every members of the New Direction team for maximum results.

The State Ministry of Health would now heave a sigh of relief to pick up from where the erstwhile Commissioner for Health, Dr. Saka Haruna Audu left the Ministry three months ago.

Dr. Audu was sacked by the Governor over a reported allegation of misappropriation of funds.

He was in his second term as Commissioner for Health under Governor Bello before he was relieved of his appointment.
