Police Nab Kidnap Suspect, Recover Two AK-47 Rifles in Kogi

Police in Kogi on Thursday arrested a suspected kidnapper and armed robber identified as Mohammed Bako in a stop and search operations along Idah-Anyigba road.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Aya in a statement said Bako was arrested in a commercial vehicle with two (2) AK-47 rifles, 41 rounds of ammunition, one (1) locally made Baretta Pistol, 6.7 MM ammunition hidden in a sack.

According to Aya, the suspect who hails from Koton -Karfe area of Kogi State had confessed ownership of the arms and ammunition.

“Investigation is being intensified. The suspect will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.

“Members of the public are assured that the Command is determined to work in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate security of life and property,” he added.
