‘Some People Need Permission to Enter Kogi’: Usman Jibrin Taunts Murtala Ajaka

The governorship candidate of Accord Party for November 11th governorship election in Kogi State, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin has stated why he was endorsed as the Igala consensus candidate for the election.

He was recently endorsed by Kogi Unity Forum, a sociopolitical group led by the former Deputy Governor of the state, Elder Simon Achuba.

Jibrin said he is the only candidate who can go round Kogi State without having to take permission

The former Naval Chief stated this at official unveiling of his candidacy, alongside his running mate, Hon Raphael Olafemi.

“I’m the only one that can go round the state. Some people need to take permission before they can cross the bridge,” he said.

ebirareporters.com gathered that the statement was targeted at the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, his major rival for the Igala consensus bid.

Feelers indicated that Jibrin referred to the violent encounter between Ajaka and Governor Yahaya Bello on Lokoja road, resulting in trading of blames and criticisms.

Recall that the Governor claimed his convoy was attacked by thugs loyal to Ajaka, and the accused also ran a contrary claim, especially as he could not enter the state.

“Since that episode, he has not been able to attempt returning to the state to continue his consultation with royal fathers. I wonder what campaign he would be running with this foundation. In addition to this, he was on a wrong Twitter trend more recently for fraudulent reasons” Ibrahim Awal, a political analyst said.

Speaking on the capacity of the Accord Party’s candidate st the unveiling, Achuba said the former Naval boss possesses great level of security experience.

He has fought battles, and he has seen peace. So, both ways, he can go. He knows the dangers of war, and he knows the relevance of peace to mankind. We believe that with him, he will appropriate rightly, and Kogi will move forward.
