Kogi: Reactions as Youths Take ‘Asuku for Governor’ Campaign Posters to Street

Netizens from Kogi State have reacted to pictures of some youths on the streets with Governorship campaign posters of Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku, the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello.



The youths in their numbers bandied the posters of Asuku, flanked by the Presidential and Vice-presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima respectively.

“Vision 2023, support Pharm. Muhammad Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku for Governor Kogi State. Powered by Suleiman Jamaludeen Mohammed (AK),” were the printed texts on the posters.

Asuku who hails from Okene Local Government Area of the state, same as the incumbent Governor, was first appointed and as the Director-General Protocol to the Governor, and elevated in Bello’s second term to the position of the Chief of Staff after the former occupant, Edward Onoja became the Deputy Governor of the state.

While it is not yet due for Kogi Governorship campaigns, netizens have reacted to the pictures circulating on social media, some describing it as sponsored political scheme, and the others indifferent.

Abdulhameed Tohir: “This is just electoral scheme. I for talk but since wey dey talk say if you talk dey go cut your hand, make I keep my talk to myself…”

Abdulfatee ft: “We all know if Atiku(PDP) wins automatically Igala would be back,But if Tinubu (APC) wins,James faleke from Okun side automatically becomes the new Governor Know this and have peace of mind.”

Saidu Akogwu: “These are undelegated Sycophants.” 

Omeiza Zoza: “This is is one of the reasons the KC politicians will never creat job opportunity for the youths.”

Idris Yakubu: “Make them leave my C.O.S alone oh. He’s still looking for his mother. Thank youth.”

The Kogi State Governorship election would hold on November 16th, 2023 as Governor Yahaya Bello has barely a year to vacate the seat.
