The Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Saidu has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Saidu on Saturday met with the Governor of the state, Alh. Yahaya Bello at his Abuja residence.
In his words, Saidu noted one of the reasons behind his decision was because the governorship candidate of his former party, Dino Melaye has become confused.
“I will not be an exception considering the man-made confusion who became the flagbearer of PDP, therefore the time to join APC is now,” he said.
He reiterated that the sterling leadership qualities of Governor Yahaya Bello in the last seven years and his strive to unite the various segments of the state is worthy of commendation.
Hon. Saidu expressed confidence that the incoming administration of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman would not derail from the development template laid by Governor Yahaya Bello.
The former PDP chairman expressed confidence on the leadership of Gov Bello and said the state need continuity of such progressive governance, hence the need to join APC for the betterment of the state.
He also called on others in the state to join the APC, the party which he described as the winning team.
