Gov Bello Reacts to Encounter with Muri, Says Antelope Crossed Road

Governor Yahaya Bello has reacted to the Saturday’s attack on his convoy while returning to Kogi State from Abuja.

Recall that the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo had earlier narrated the encounter, where he claimed the attack was carried out by thugs loyal to the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Murtala Yakubu Ajaka.

However, reacting to the incident, Governor Bello confirmed his convoy was struck by the attackers.

He made the confirmation at the unveiling of The Deputy Governorship candidate of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Just a while ago while I was coming from Abuja, back to my territory, the lion’s den, an antelope crossed the road. Let it be the first and last an antelope will cross the lion’s way.

“I’m looking forward to law enforcement agencies to do their job and deal decisively with the situation whereby some miscreants will go and attack GYB’s convoy,” he said.

He urged the party stakeholders to refrain from reprisal attacks in words and actions.

“This is government and we are in-charge. Any criminal, however your fortress, we will come after you. We will get you we will liquidate you. Kogi State must be free from all forms of crimes and criminality.

“If you hide under any political disguise, turn criminality to politics, I don’t care. We will deal with you decisively. If you belong to my own political party, and you belong to criminals, I will deal with you.

“If you belong to any other political party and you’re known for crimes and criminality, we will deal with you,” he warned.

He further urged party faithfuls to be issue-based when campaign for the November 11th governorship election begins.
