The Kogi State Government has invited indigenes, especially land owners in Irepeni, Kabba Junction and Zariagi communities whose properties were affected in land acquisition for the proposed Kogi International Airport.
The State Bureau of Land and Urban Development sent out the invitation in a public notice, noting payment of compensation to begin on April 1st, 2026.
According to the bureau, all those to be compensated, who are farmers that their land have been accessed, are hereby invited for their payment to be held in the conference room, Kogi Bureau of Lands, from the 1st April, 2026, at 10:00am prompt daily.
The beneficiaries are to come along with two passport photographs and means of identification to include either National ID Card, Voters Card or Driver’s license.
The notice, our correspondent learnt, underscores the government’s commitment to delivering the first airport in the state in a landmark timeline of completion.
Recall that the state government had awarded the construction of the airport to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), and the perimeter fencing to Gamji Construction Company.
The government had also gone ahead to conduct bidding exercise for the construction of access roads to the airport.
