Kogi Guber: 5 Political Parties, Candidates Collapse Structures for APC Candidate, Ododo

Ahead of the November 11th governorship election in Kogi State, five political parties under the aegis of United Progressive Political Parties in the State and their governorship candidates have endorsed the candidature of the All Progressive Congress (APC) flag bearer, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The political parties and their candidates are APP – Onaji Sunday, ADP Chairman Prince Yahaya Mamam, Boot – Muhammad Umar, NRM – Bala Abdulkadir Dirisu, and ZLP – Fatima Suleiman.

The spokesman of the united progressive political Parties and the candidate of National Rescue Mission (NRM), Mallam Bala Abdulghafar Dirisu, stated this during a press conference organized by the group for the endorsement of the APC candidate, Ododo, in Lokoja on Saturday.

According to him, the group has resolved to align and throw their weight behind the APC candidate, stressing that they have come to this crucial decision after a thorough examination of the lineup for this important election in terms of their background, antecedents, and ability to deliver the needed aspirations and yearnings of the good people of Kogi State.

He said, “We have taken into cognizance a candidate who is a key driver, who is well groomed in the GYB new direction agenda and well-versed in its philosophy for the historic transformation and consolidation of Kogi State.

“It’s worthy to mention that the United Progressive Political Parties, which is made up of seasoned and tested politicians and activists, has taken cognizance of the pedigree, competence, capacity, and ability to deliver out of all the candidates seeking the exalted office from all the political parties and found the APC candidate Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is worthy based on his humility, dexterity, steadfastness, focused and promising.

“In addition, we saw in him the prospects of being able to face the realities of governance where the poorest of the poor will be given the chance to participate in a system where the son of nobody can aspire freely to become somebody,” he stated.
