Kogi Govt to Take N900m Loan, Gets Assembly’s Approval

The Kogi State Government has gotten approval from the House of Assembly to take a loan in the sum of nine hundred million Naira. 

The House gave the approval on Thursday at the resumption of plenary on when it resumed. 

The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole read a letter from Governor Yahaya Bello seeking approval for the loan. 

The N900 million loan was said to be used for the payment of counterpart funds for the 2021 Universal Basic Education Projects. 

The letter stated that government needed the approval to develop the State Basic Education subsector. 

The Lawmakers gave the Governor a go-ahead. 

Meanwhile, the State Assembly has passed the over N145 billion budget for the year 2022 into law. 

The Lawmakers passed the budget on Thursday after the adoption of a Report of the Committee on Finance, Economic Planning and Budget Monitoring presented by its Chairman, Honourable Aderonke Aro, at the Committee of the whole house.
