Kogi APC Retains Abdullahi Bello as State Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has on Saturday conducted its state congress across states in Nigeria.

The Kogi State Chapter of the party has retained Abdullahi Bello to continue as the State Party Chairman, even as new people made the list of executives.

The executives were elected by affirmation.

The retained party Chairman hails from the same central senatorial district with the state Governor.

Speaking at the Confluence stadium venue of the congress, Governor Yahaya Bello told former party leaders who were not returned that the decision was out of respect and regard for the leadership and dictates of the party.

The Governor added that under the former leadership the party delivered 100% at all previous electoral outings and that no one would be left behind in the affairs of things and they would be recognized to play various roles in the state and beyond, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed reported.

He assured the continued display of peace, unity and love for one another in the state and the Party stressing that gone were the days of divisions along ethnic or religious lines

While expressing confidence in the party’s victory in 2023 and other subsequent outings, he noted that fairness, equity and justice would be the watchword in the process of selecting those who would emerge to fly the flag of the party and that not under his watch would any party member experience suppression

In his address the returned Chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Bello expressed gratitude to the leadership of the party for entrusting him to lead the APC again, noting that he would not in anyways disappoint the trust reposed in him by the party leadership and members while he alongside his executive members would continue to give the party a strong footing in the state.

However, Tribune is reporting that trouble started at the stadium when some aggrieved members from Ofu and Dekina stormed the venue following the removal of their party Zonal vice chairman and replaced with another person.

According to sources, the aggrieved members from Dekina were not happy that Amed Attah was removed as Zonal vice chairman kogi east and replaced with another person.
