The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced uploading names of ts Senate and House of Representatives candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal.
The exercise is in line with INEC guidelines and has cleared the way for standard-bearers in across the states.
The National Working Committee (NWC), has the final authority, approved the final list before it was uploaded to the INEC portal.
Some of the cleared candidates from Kogi State confirmed that they received Form EC9 from the commission last night.
Among the successful senatorial candidates are Senator Sunday Karimi (Kogi West), Ameh Joseph Erico (Kogi East), and Former Governor Yahaya Bello (Kogi Central).
The approved House of Representatives candidates from Kogi state were also yesterday seen in photo ops with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, confirming their place as flag bearers.
Sources in the meeting confirmed the candidates marched to Governor Ododo’s residence after receiving and filling the INEC forms.
They are Hon. Abdullah Ibrahim Ali (Ankpa), Hon. Leke Abejide (Yagba), Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem (Ajaokuta), Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye (Lokoja/Koto), Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna (Dekina/Bassa), Hon. Arc. Salman Idris (Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu), Engr. Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf (Adavi/Okehi) Hon. Ojogbane Omale Uchola (Idah), and Hon. Sanni Salau Ogembe (Okene/Ogori-Magongo).
Recall that Senator Karimi having confirmed his candidacy, called for reconciliation and a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections.
