Kogi-born Lecturer Slumps, Dies during Igala Function in Kwara

 

Mr. Ayatu Ikani Momoh, a lecturer of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, has died. 

Mr Ayatu slumped during a meeting of his kinsmen in Offa, Kwara.

All efforts to resuscitate him by members of his local community failed.

Until his death, Ayatu who hailed from Kogi, was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication of the institution and the secretary of Igala local community in Offa.

A source described the deceased as “full of life” when he attended the Jumat Prayer on Friday.

He was a very hard-working lecturer, the source said.

“His body had been deposited at the morgue of General hospital, Offa,” he said.

Head of Media and Publicity of the institution, Olayinka Iroye, who confirmed the incident, told Daily Trust that he will be buried in his hometown in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State, on Tuesday.

Iroye said, “Mr Ayatu served the Department and School of Communication and Information Technology in various capacities; including Staff Adviser, Examination Officer and lately the Coordinator of the Printing Press.”
