The Minority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Idowu Ibikunle Simon has dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo received the minority leader and other decampees from opposition parties at a ceremony on Saturday in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area of the State.
Speaking at the event, the Governor assured President Bola Tinubu of overwhelming support from Kogi state to secure his second term.
He said only him as Governor and elected messenger of the state, can speak for the people of Kogi State.
“They are on their own, we are here. Politics is local, that is why we are here. I want Mr. President to be rest assured that come 2027, Kogi State will deliver for him 100%,” he said.
Other party faithfuls at the event were the immediate past Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello; the Ag. National Chairman of the APC, who was represented by the North Central Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Bawa Dalori; the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, among others.
