Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Millet Dantawaye, has appealed to residents of the state to consistently provide the police with actionable intelligence to help curb criminal activities.
CP Dantawaye made the appeal on Sunday at the First Evangelical Church Winning All, Lokoja, during a thanksgiving service in honour of Mrs. Salami Aderin Eunice, the mother of Mr. Segun Salami, Channels TV correspondent in Kogi State, who celebrated her 75th birthday.
The commissioner noted that Kogi State presents a unique policing challenge as it is bordered by nine other states, making it vulnerable to infiltration by criminal elements.
However, he expressed optimism, saying the police have made significant progress in maintaining security.
He urged members of the public to continue praying for security agencies and to share any useful information that could help prevent crime.
“I appeal for any form of intelligence report from you—information you come across in your children’s school, your workplace, or even here in the church,” he said.
Dantawaye commended the Kogi State Government for its ongoing efforts to combat crime, stressing that community cooperation is essential in achieving lasting peace and security.
He also congratulated Mrs. Salami on her 75th birthday and wished her continued good health and happiness.
