Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved the reinstatement of His Royal Highness, Obin Sam Bola Ojo, as Olumagongo of Magongo and Acting Chairman of the Ogori/Magongo Local Government Traditional Council.
Recall that HRH Ojo was amongst three traditional rulers deposed by former Governor Yahaya Bello at the tail of his administration in 2024. He was deposed to Salka, Magama Local Government Area of Niger State.
However, the Ododo led administration has returned the monarch, noting the decision followed a formal request for reinstatement submitted by the monarch, alongside an apology tendered by him and the Magongo Development Association.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdullahi Bello, while conveying the reinstatement, urged the traditional ruler to take advantage of the State Government’s magnanimity by conducting himself in accordance with the law.
The reinstatement, ebirareporters.com learnt, came after the withdrawal of a suit previously filed against the State Government at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Abdullahi Bello further encouraged the monarch to renew his commitment to fostering peace, unity, and harmony within his domain and across the state.
The Kogi State Government reaffirmed its commitment to working collaboratively with traditional institutions to ensure stability, development, and mutual respect across all communities.
