Gov Bello Hosts Security Meeting to Sustain Peace in Kogi

Recall that earlier in March, the Governor speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today stated he does not subscribe to negotiating with criminals.

“Anybody that is carrying rifles or arms against the state, they are criminals. I will not subscribe to negotiating with criminals.

“He who takes arms against the state as a result of joblessness should be dealt with decisively,” he added.

Kogi State is no doubt one of the few states in Nigeria free from the volatile spate of insecurity across the country, safe for a cup of Kidnappers along the Lokoja-Abuja highway.

The Governor of the state, Yahaya Bello has maintained that he is in-charge of the state, and would not negotiate give chance for criminals to hold sway in the state.

In the bid to sustain his efforts on peace and security, Governor Bello on Tuesday presided over a security meeting.

The meeting was held at the Executive Hall of the State Government House, Lokoja.

In attendance were Chairmen of the Local Government Areas, Heads of all security agencies in the state and the State Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara.
