Gov Bello Hints on Picking Successor, Says ‘Best Person’ Will Emerge

……….

Ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello has hinted on picking a successor as his tenure winds down.

Even as the Presidential ambition of Governor Bello seem to top the agenda of Kogi State political space, the battle to succeed the Governor has become a closed-door movement, especially amongst top appointees of the Governor eyeing the seat of their boss.

When asked, they all denied their gubernatorial aspirations, hanging it under the facade of sole commitment to the hyped “GYB-PYB movement.”

However, Governor Bello in a recent exclusive interview with Daily Trust would be picking a successor, at the appropriate time according to him.

When asked where he would pick his successor from, the Governor did not say, but went on to assure that the best would emerge.

“At an appropriate time, I know that the person will emerge, and whoever emerges will be the best for Kogi State.

“I am grooming leaders across the state, from the local to the state level. By the time I will be concluding my second term in office, I want to assure you that anybody picked at the end of the day would be good for the state,” he said.

Bello assured that his successor would outperform him.”

He stated: “I want to also assure you that the best person that would do even better than me shall emerge, by the grace of God.”
