Gov. Bello Finally Returns to Kogi after Failed Presidential Bid, Says ‘White Lion is Back’

“I’m going to send a sound signal to the cowards, who felt that Governor Yahaya Bello did not win the presidential ticket and they are trying to test waters back here in Kogi State, GYB the white lion is back.”

Weeks after his failed presidential bid at the primary election of the All Progressives Congress, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has returned to the state.

Bello returned on Sunday to a ceremonial reception by members of his cabinet and supporters in the state.

Addressing the crowd at the Government House in Lokoja, the Governor said his presidential aspiration has taught him and the elites a lot of lessons.

Bello who came fifth in the election, said he learnt lessons that would guide ambition in the future.

If he had not run, according to him, “nobody would know that the youths of this country have the power to challenge and of course next time, win.

He said he has known who Nigerian elites are, and what the politics is all about.

“If I hadn’t participated, I wouldn’t know that the knees of some people are on the necks of Nigerians,” he said.

The governor warned his opponents in the state, whom he said tried to test the waters in his absence.

“Let me caution those who felt the lion is sleeping. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, in this dispensation, Kogi State is ours; GYB is still in charge, and it is an abomination that in a jungle where the lion is the King, an antelope or a hyena will dare the lion.

“We will deliver in Kogi State. We will mobilize the youths, the younger generation, the women and Nigerians across the country to deliver as much as possible to All Progressives Congress, for our candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and to ensure that that chance remains open for us the next time.
