The former Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Tim Nda Diche has declared intentions to run for House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress, APC, representing Dekina/Bassa constituency.
Diche who is the founder of Dichmark Insurance Company, made the declaration in his Gboloko community, Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
He was one of the first Commissioners appointed by Governor Yahaya Bello, but later resigned in 2016 on “personal grounds” after serving for barely seven months.
Declaring his intentions, he called on party stakeholders to support his ambition, stating that the declaration was a results of pressure from the people to contest.
He assured of employment opportunities, empowerment programmes and infrastructural development.
”I am a man with compassionate heart, i will ensure that my priorities are concentrated on the poor, downtrodden and the masses of our Constituency
“I’m a visionary leader who can create wealth for our teeming populace thereby, addressing the issues of poverty, insecurity and youth restiveness,” he said.
The highlight of the declaration was the presentation of N5 million to the aspirant, being funds raised by the Bassa-Nge community to buy nomination form.
The Community Leader, Mr. Pius Mathew Awom who presented the money to Diche, told newsmen that the donation was the unanimous decision of the community to appreciate the his developmental strides.
“The majority of Bassa-nge resident at home have deemed it fit to contribute the sum of 5 million which was today presented to our son, Dr. Tim Diche during his declaration and visit to the traditional palace at Gboloko today,” Awom said.
