Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Phillips Salawu, has lost his mother, Mrs. Alice Bilikisu Salawu, who passed on Tuesday at the age of 107.
The late matriarch, according to family sources, passed away in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of the state.
Dr. Salawu served as Deputy Governor from 2003 to 2012 under former Governor Ibrahim Idris.
The family described the deceased as a devoted Christian whose life was defined by faith, humility, wisdom and commitment to family values.
According to the family, funeral arrangements and burial rites will be conducted in line with Christian traditions.
Her death has attracted condolences from relatives, friends and associates, many of whom remembered her as a respected matriarch who lived a long and impactful life.
