The Director General Government House Administration, Alh. Dr. Umar Oricha Shuaibu has received the evacuated University of Jos students of Kogi State extraction at the Glass House in Lokoja.
It will be recalled that His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello quickly swung into action to evacuate the students when he got wind of the turmoil in Jos, Plateau State.
While receiving the students back to the state, Alh. Dr. Umar Oricha Shuaibu thanked God almighty for securing their lives and same time bringing down safely to the state they belong. He went further to appreciate the fatherly role and kind gesture displayed by His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello as one that is hard to come by in an age where less concern is shown by some leaders. In his words, “I am proud of our dear governor who today has made it possible for our students schooling at Jos to successfully travel home as a result of the ongoing crisis rocking the Plateau. He is a governor that knows the meaning of securing the lives and properties of his citizens and that is why he has not allowed any of the students from Kogi State schooling outside the state to face any security challenge.” He also admonished the students to get more closer to God as it is only God that is able to secure and shield anyone from the fiery darts of the evil ones.
The students in unison appreciated Gov. Yahaya Bello for the great love he has displayed towards them by bringing them succour and relief in their most trying moments. They said they would have been totally stranded and end up as a prey to the fighting groups save for His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello who saw the dire need to come to their at the nick of time.
The Kogi State Government made available Coaster Buses and adequate security which helped in conveying the students safely to the Glass House in Lokoja. Logistics and other acts of hospitality was also made available for the students to go back to their various homes to be reunited with their parents.
